Derek had a heart attack on the 10th February 2008 , we thought that he was getting better, but sadly he had a fatal heart attack 10 days later.
Derek was my partner for the last 3 years. He was the most amazing person. He was so passionate about life, in everything that he did. He loved life so much, he was always on the go, wether it be in our personal life or at work, always hustle bustle, but you couldn't help but get carried along with whatever he was doing.
He made me so happy, I just have to think about him and I smile, although just now it is mixed with sadness. He gave me the most amazing 3 years, and I am so fortunate to have had the 3 years that I did with him. A lot of people never experience the love, passion, joy and fun that we had together and for that I will always be so grateful to him. I have the most fantastic memories of our life together.
I miss him so much and I know it isnt just my life and his families lives that have been affected by this. Everyone that met him was touched by him, because he was such a larger than life, vibrant character. He would have ran to the ends of the earth for anyone if he could have, and everyone that I have spoken to since has said similar things about him and that I feel is a tribute in itself.
I love him dearly and he will always have my heart.
